Thankfulness Day 3- Caleb

CwoodsYou don’t raise heroes, you raise sons.  And if you treat them like sons, they’ll turn out to be heroes, even if it’s just in your own eyes.  ~Walter M. Schirra, Sr.

Today I am thankful for my son Caleb. I can honestly say he is a great son. He rarely caused his father and I any problems as he was growing up in our home. He always worked hard while in school pushing himself to do more than he should do. We never had to worry about him getting in trouble when he went out with friends.

He never complained about having to share us or our home with foster kids. He embraced each new arrival and tried to be their friend and “big brother.”  When we adopted Madilyn and he finally became a big brother for real he was the best one that he could be to her.

He is currently attending the Georgia State University Honors College. He is also working at the CURVE center. He seems to be managing his class and work load well. He is a penny pincher with his pay checks, which will serve him well now and later in life. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.

I could not ask for a better son than him.

What are you thankful for today?
