I have been busy and missed posting this post that I wrote several days ago. On February 3, 2009 (five years ago) we became a legal family. Our adoption of Madilyn was finalized and we were able to finally begin our lives as a family without fear of anyone taking our daughter from us.
Our adoption journey was a rocky one. It was road that I would not want anyone to have to travel. We made it through and are a better stronger family for having gone through the hurdles we had to conquer.
It was such a relief when the judge pronounced Madilyn to be our daughter. She was already mine in my heart, but it was great to hear that she was now legally mine. February 3 will always be a special day in my heart, because that is the day that she truly became “forever ours.”
